MAD HATTERS STRONG
THIRD PERIOD TOPPLES
ROCKHOPPERS
The Danbury Mad Hatters opened up for three consecutive third period goals to bring down the Rockhoppers 4-3 in front of 902 at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday evening. It was the Mad Hatters first win of 2009.
The Mad Hatters opened up the scoring once again when Obi Aduba sent home his eighth goal of the season making it 1-0 Mad Hatters. The Rockhoppers would tie it at 1-1 after 2 periods, but that's when the Mad Hatters exploded for 3 consecutive goals in just under 10 minutes. Mykul Haun, Obi Aduba, again, and Igor Karlov each scored in the third period to put the Mad Hatters up 4-1. The Rockhoppers made an effort to come back by scoring twice, but the Mad Hatters defense and goaltending stood up to that challenge to take their 3 win of the season over the Rockhoppers.
The win puts the Mad Hatters back at .500, and, most importantly, 3 points out of second place.
Derek MacIntyre stopped 21 of 24 shots in his second consecutive win over the Rockhoppers, and the win also puts him at 7-5-1 on the year. His .898 save percentage puts him second in the EPHL in that category, and with one more victory he will be tied for second in the EPHL in overall victories.
The Mad Hatters will be back at the DIA this Friday night at 7:30 pm to take on their arch-rivals, the first place Brooklyn Aces.

| Game Recap - Tuesday, December 30, 2008 MAD HATTERS SNAP THREE
GAME LOSING STREAK
IN DEFEAT OF ROCKHOPPERS
The Mad Hatters returned to the win column on Tuesday night by defeating the Jersey Rockhoppers 4-2 in front of 923 at Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ.
For the third consecutive game, Igor Karlov got the scoring started when he scored his 9th goal of the season. After Jersey tied it as 1-1, Alex Redmond lit the lamp on his 4th goal of the year to make it 2-1. Jersey would tie at 2-2 in the third, but the Mad Hatters would have the last laugh as Alex Redmond scored his second of the night and 5th overall to give the Mad Hatters a 3-2 lead. Duane Whitehead iced the game away with his 7th goal of the year when he scored into an open net with 1 minute remaining.
Derek MacIntyre won his 6th game of the season by stopping 30 of 32. The victory also put his record back over .500 on the season after losing his previous 3 games. The win also puts the Mad Hatters 3 points back of second place.
The Mad Hatters game at Hudson Valley on December 31 has been postponed. The next Mad Hatters game will take place on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 5:00 pm when they take on these same Rockhoppers. The game is also the Mad Hatters' Tough Guys Challenge To "Drop Your Gloves". You can read more about this special goodwill promotion by clicking here.

| Game Recap - Saturday, December 27, 2008 MAD HATTERS LOSE
HOME-AND-HOME
SERIES TO ACES
(DANBURY, CT) – The Danbury Mad Hatters lost both games of a home-and-home set to the Brooklyn Aces on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
In the Friday night game, Igor Karlov got the Mad Hatters on the board early, but the Aces scored 4 consecutive goals to make it 4-1. Dan Hickman scored in the third period to get the Mad Hatters within 2, but that would be as far as they would get, losing 4-2.
In the Saturday afternoon game in Brooklyn, it was almost deja vu as Igor Karlov got the Mad Hatters on the board in the first, but, just like the night before, the Aces scored 3 unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead. Despite a late 5-on-3 opportunity for the Mad Hatters, they couldn't capatilize and lost their third consecutive game to the Aces.
Derek MacIntyre started both games and stopped 61 of 68 in both games combined. His two losses sent his record to 5-5-1 on the year.
The Mad Hatters will be back in action this Tuesday in West Orange to take on the Rockhoppers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
